Bubbled under the Billboard Hot 100 at #123 in 1964. This recording was a big hit in Hong Kong. Robin had a hit during the previous year with "Wonderful Summer". Under her real name, Jackie Ward, she was a popular session singer. Robin is her daughter's name.

For me, it would be Summer of '63, the LAST innocent summer of our generation. The music--The girls--& yes, a simpler time, & better in many ways. Oh I know, we had racism & vietnam was just over the horizon, but still, Summer of '63--I was 16 y/o, was My Summer of Dreams, & will always be. Robin--Jackie--was such a total Babe!! Wolfsky9

@Wolfsky9 You are absolutely right: Robin Ward (I think her real name was Jackie Ward) *should* have had a much bigger career....it makes me wonder why it didn't happen. On a different note, while many like to point out the social problems back then, from sexism to smoking and so forth, how I miss the innocence and melodiousness of the music. Oh, for a time machine to go back to any summer of the early 1960s...
