This is the first (and rough) trailer for Afterimages, the second film by William Brown.
Afterimages was mentioned among the Films of the Year 2010 in Sight & Sound magazine by critic and academic Catherine Wheatley.
The film tells the story of Dennis, an immigrant baker in Scotland, who finds a mobile phone that contains nothing except for a disturbing film of a girl being raped. Having seen the film, Dennis finds himself in a new world of love and hate.
Afterimages is playing at CPH PIX 2011. It stars Dennis Chua, Ben Milne, Flossie Topping, Nick Marwick, Andrew Slater, Grant Stewart, and Tommy Zyw.
The music featured here is Legions (Aftermath) by Zoƫ Keating. It is excellent and here is a link to her page: www.zoekeating.com/.
William Brown's first film, En Attendant Godard, also played at CPH PIX in 2010, as well as at the NorthWestFilmForum in Seattle and at the ArtsEmerson Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Esteemed critic Jonathan Rosenbaum also included it in his Top 5 Films of 2009 in Sight & Sound magazine.
William Brown is a university lecturer and he has made both En Attendant Godard and Afterimages for no money (or rather, he has gone broke twice in two years to make these two films).
