No, you can't use it while it's in it's stone. The stone has 2 purposes, one to charge it, and the other thing it is supposed to do is disconnect it from your phone. I have beening using this bluetooth for about 6 months now and it's a real love/hate relationship. I like how it looks and feels, and I hate the fact that the stone is really flaky in actually disconnecting the bluetooth from your phone. Sometimes it stays connected and I will be on a call and the thing dies.

Nice looking headset but due to the design of the mic (no mic boom) I would think the noise canceling feature would be of limited use. So I looked up some audio sample reviews(mp3's) for the Jabra Stone and yes the noise canceling doesn't do much if anything. One thing I have learnt about bluetooth headsets and that is "no mic boom equals poor audio outgoing" (look at the Plantronics Voyager Pro as a great example of doing it right).

Yes, I think that is true in general. There have been some examples that have broken that rule over the years, but basically if you want it to work well, the microphone needs to be close to the user's mouth.

I wanted to see how it would be put
In your ear it looks like a hearing aid rather than a Bluetooth earpiece

Yeah, I'm visiting my mother in FL right now and don't all of my normal equipment. Would have been too hard to shoot. But, for what it's worth, it looks really nice when worn on somebody it fits properly.
