Demo of movie playing, and how to convert your DVD movies to play on the T-Mobile HD2 smartphone / superphone.

There's plenty of DVD conversion programs out there, many of them free. One the I suggest is Super C - a free codec ("compression decompression") program that can also turn any video format into any format you want.

But Super C is a daunting program if you don't know what you are doing.

For this reason I suggest you check out the Slysoft line of video products. I have used them since 2003 and they are very good. All they do is convert DVDs that you own into a format for your device. It's not a video conversion program, from one format to the other.

But if you have a DVD library like I do (about 200 movies) and want to play them on your HD2 or whatever handset, consider CloneDVDMobile by Slysoft.

Regardless of which program you use, remember, the best format for playing on your HD2 is MPEG 4 (MP4)

  • I need to know how to get the movie on my HD2. I have already converted the movie but when I try to load it, my phone says that I don't have enough space so I need to put if on my storage card.

  • @soldierofthornton ... The T-Mobile HD2 came with a 16GB microSD card. Don't you have that? If so, you need to put all movies on that card, not on the device itself.

And transfer files on to the microsd card using USB thumb drive / reader. DO NOT transfer files on to the microSD while the card is inside the HD2, the transfer speeds are snail slow that way.

You can put the movies anywhere on the microSD card, but the best way is to transfer files into the folder named "DCIM."

  • do u use WMP to sync the movies to the HD2? I formatted a movie into MPEG4, but WMP doesn't recognize it, therefore it doesn't appear in the Library from where I can "drag it" to my HD2.
