Check behind and move into a dominant position not inviting drivers next to you in tight spaces!
-
have you not learnt yet, GET OFF THE FUCKING ROAD!

haha I had this same incident with a royal mail van, which overtook on a traffic island, hit the square-edge curb with its right rear wheel which made the van fly about a foot into the air then crash down.. the van kept on with a flat and I just cycled along laughing, got what he deserved :D
Wish I had filmed though :L

@nearcyclemisses I got a good way to do it, I got the Radioshack outfit and matching helmet, Trek white and Red bike and the sunglasses so I am deceiving to people as a pro! It actually works because sometimes peopple will stay behind on my wheel or 5-10 meters behind for 3 minutes or so at a time, oh and I floor it at traffic islands to evade the jerks that try to make sneaky but dangerous overtakes!

Hope you contacted the company in question. The driver needs to resit his test, terrible and inconsiderate judgement on his/her behalf.
As a motorist and a cyclist I move out into the white lines, and I'm aware that it is appreciated and safe and will do whatever to teach other drivers how it is ought to do.
Happy and safe riding sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@m648mvp Whats this all about ? Some fucker been hacking/using my username ?? This is the third time someone has posted up stuff using my 'username', Can it be easy to hack a 'username ?
That's a terrible overtake!
If you wanted to hold your ground, I would have signalled right earlier, and sat at the 2/3rds lane position. Sitting on the left of the left hand wheel track isn't going to dissuade any overtakes, IMO. According to Cyclecraft, 60cm is the bare minimum distance you should ever have from the edge of the road.

Tried posting a text comment (as well as the video). I really thought I was going to get hit in that one so I know what big lorries are like!
Good to hear you're cycling a bit further out. There are a few of those crossings on my commute which I always try to block the road when going past to stop idiots. Generally works, even though I've been honked a few times (and feel like a pest when I'm tried and not going that quickly). Though, it's better than getting cut up!

This is something I am learning. I do feel more vulnerable further out but as you say drivers are less likely to cut you up.
