I hope each of these guys straighten up their act and make something of themselves, but the sad reality is some of them are troublemakers, particularly Mychal Bell. One of them is on my Facebook list... he's gotten close to God after this ordeal and plans to be a lawyer. I think that's awesome, I hope he makes something of himself.

I don't wish they were still in jail. That'd be completely immoral. I'm just mad that (1) they were treated in the black community as victims when they ganged up and beat someone and (2) news outlets like CNN was sharp as a scalpel in carving a perfect little "racist small Southern town" story.. and it worked. They left out at LEAST half of the relevant details of the story, including very important info included in the eye witness statements.

@mikeohoh7 it was a fight! they didnt kill the boy, im not saying it was right because it wasnt, but it also wasnt right that people really wanted these boys to go to jail for all those years over a school fight, the white boys didnt go to jail when they beat Robert up

Only Mychal Bell claimed Barker said a racial slur, which was included in Bell's eye witness statement. He also said in this statement that he was trying to HELP Barker during the gang beating, but he openly admitted later that his statement was false. Several Jena 6 have had brushes with the law since this case. Three have been arrested for violent crimes.

@dsjj251 The failure for you to see that African American culture is centered around crime and violence is the reason that hundreds or thousands of young blacks are dying every year and most of them are locked up in prison. Instead of fixing the problem like Mr. Bill Cosby talks about, many blacks blame white people for their problems and try to instill hate in every situation like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Not all blacks are like this, just most, and you need to fix it. Help yourselves.

Do you mean the FIGHT which was a face-to-face confrontation of a group of whites against a group of blacks trying to bust into a party? I'm sure you don't mean THAT, as it's not close to being "equal".
Come on, show me where 6 whites attacked a lone black from behind and kicked him after unconscious, and didn't get sentenced.
No? Can't come up with such an event? Didn't think so.
