I remember first hearing the word Atrocity at this time. There were atrocities at Santa Rita. I had to look it up in the dictionary.
War is atrocity,
Atrocity War.
Col. Wayne Goodson
He wanted to be remembered for that and often put it as a postscript in private correspondence.

They really need anti-hippy protests.

Wow. This video brings back the mind-bending opposition to the Anti-War Movement from the Right that has been easy to forget. Here's what I need to remember: Those of us of draft age who opposed the war were not Commies; we were cannon fodder. Men like Westmoreland and Kissinger and Nixon were more than willing to feed us to the War if only to postpone the day when they had to admit defeat.

The irony is the protestors for peace had violent methods such as throwing flaming bottles.

@delta2901 What does "cut and run" mean?
The military-industrial complex uses the same old lies with every new generation. The difference now is that the new generations are wise to their tricks.

I did not want to got to Viet Nam and leave my family and die in a far off land. I was 19 and afraid and remember taking off for Nam from Travis AFB Calif and the lump in my stomach that this may be the last time I see America again. Arnold Swartznegger was probably just land in the US and starting his movie career and people were laughing and having fun back home. I went because it was the law and no other reason. Yes, and i am so happy that i did and did not cut and run.
