It's certainly a huge improvement over the original. Coming as it did after the launch of the Playstation it was a bit late in the day to save the Jaguar though. They really needed games of this quality the moment the Jag hit the sheleves.

I would say that Battlemorph is what Cybermorph should have been ;)

I've played Star Fox 2, and this definitely has better graphics.

Most people who compare this to StarFox have never played this game or owned a Jaguar;let alone the CD. They just go by what they look at. They also fail to realize StarFox has no replay value because it's a short easy game that can be beaten in 20 minutes. This game will take several days to beat because it has so many levels and much more depth than StarFox ever will have.

Starfox is a fast paced game, and has a variety of secrets and different ways to play through, plenty of replay value. That said, from a tech standpoint, even Cybermorph is a lot more advanced (even compared to SF2), more polygons, shading, and higher framerate.

Going under water has nothing to do with it either... (SF2 featured this and free-range areas with OK draw distance and even some textures)
Too bad Cybermorph wasn't nearly as polished as BM. (granted music was CD but the rest...)
