Post-CP novice minor accident back in 2005. Strong wind and too much brake input. I'm a lot better now :)

This excerpt is taken from my Vintage Paragliding, Lobden 2005 video.

  • A clear example of the danger of teaching (or letting students develop) the dangerous habit of looking (and fixating!) at the wing!

Regarding brakes, the 'final straw' is down to HP&L (Human Performance & Limitations), that is when the pilot "put's his hands down" (due to being slightly dragged) he pulls full brakes... making the drag worse!

Simple fix: DON'T look at the wing, keep off the brakes, and flick around to the 'cross brake' (reverse) position. :-)

  • @murrayhay Hi Murray, these were some of the very first 'outings' since passing my CP with 'Airborne' in Oct 2004. As you can probably tell from my later videos, I'm much better now. Honest ;)

    Cheers,

    Rob.

  • Hi lookupparagliding

    :-)

Hi I'm in the middle of a BIG rebuild (new rear chassis / body for the 4x4) hope to get down and mmet up & fly for a few weeks, during a English/Welsh tour early next year ;-)

  • @murrayhay Sounds good Murray :) btw, I think the bodywork is a bit overdue lol ;) Still, if it gets you reliably from A to B.
