Taken from the excellent fitness website http://www.zodbod.com a website for programme downloads, articles, forums and exercise videos.

This is a great workout that gives your chest and arms a good blast and will require no equipment. This means its perfect for doing on holiday or anywhere else you havent got access to a gym. Press ups are an old traditional exercise but one that shouldnt be overlooked. They really are good at toning up not just the arms and chest but the back and tummy too. And as there are so many variations and ways to increase the difficulty they are the perfect 'do anywhere' exercise.

This video is a 5 minute session that should leave you feeling nicely worked out. A good level of proficiency at performing press ups should be achieved first before attempting this workout. A good guide would be the fact you could perform perhaps 20 slow, controlled and full range of motion press ups. That should have you ready for whats in the video. Always keep your tummy held tight and your back straight whilst doing press ups. There should be no dip in the lower back,

Have a good warm up before you start this workout, expecially of the wrists, chest and arms. Feel free to miss some sets out or replace the more difficult plyometric press ups with regular press ups if you need. Take things easy and progress at a steady level. Dont just jump into this video and do it all if you have never done some of the press ups before, you will find yourself hurting the next day!

Have fun!

  • Superb video mate, as you say, press-ups are very underated, i've been doing the variations you have been showing in the video for over a year now, and my arms chest and shoulders have increased in strength dramatically. Awesome exercise.
