luv anything by Benson

I was a rock guitarist who had broken his left arm, shoulder and hand in a motorcycle accident. Once I was able to walk around i ventured farther and farther from my apartment every day. I finally was going to venture about two miles from home and check out a strip mall. On the way, drifting out across a field of tall grass, i heard the sound of this album coming out of a trailer that was converted into a record shop. It changed my life.

Complex, genius. Every note is moving. I love the upbeat tempo and feel. George Benson is a legend!

Cześć!

@KarimH75 The "man with a thousand fingers?" Good thing his name isn't George Scissorhands :o)

@callouscallus No, one doesn't have to be a guitar player to like this one although most who are not would probably find it abit tedious...perhaps even off key in places. (NOT me however!) Jazz guitarists would analyse it for the effects used.
To us guitarists it's like Benson is speaking a common language. --Clarence Palmer is wonderful also as is the entire band.

Clarence Palmer drives this one. The suspension points are beyond anything this group was able to comprehend.

Do you think you have to be a guitar player to appreciate this tune? I can't get over this song, the playing is just so over the top imaginative. Almost unreal.

Wow, his solo is on fire!
Gotta love Benson's old school work!

I still have to laugh when i hear this version , like i did when i first heard it in 1972. I have to add, i laugh out of fear, not derision. His solo just creeps up on you and builds into a flow of relentless chromatic imagination. Spellbindingly beautiful!
