Excellent playing. I also have one of these excellent Mcilroy guitars (Model No 423) and it's here to stay. Just curious. Do you you still use the D'Addario EJ16 strings which Dermot fits on these guitars or have you experimented with other brands. Currently I am using Elixir Nanoweb Light on mine

@humph50 Thanks, they're incredible guitars. The Nanowebs are definitely an improvement over the Polywebs which were a little one-dimensional. Beyond the convenience factor, for the price of one pack, I can get 4 packs of Martin's regular 80/20 bronze which give a nice mellow tone or D'Addario 85/15 American bronze for a little more ping. Both gave a more realistic open tone vs the compressed tone of Elixirs, especially in open tunings where they chime better and I prefer the feel.

Dermot makes faultless guitars, in my opinion. I reviewed a couple for Acoustic magazine, and there's only been one guitar on my wish list since then.

@Sammyboy72 agreed, it's a gem of a guitar, incredibly light and responsive, inspires you to play more and better. there's something about his walnut/cedar combo that works exceptionally well.

i am highly considering saving up to get this exact same model.
i have a takamine, cheap rosewood spruce combo.. its an ok guitar.. i actually lvoe it. nbnut i want a guitar that will grow in sound as i grow in ability.
these seem amazing, and sound just as good as the lowdens that he built.
it also looks little like richard thompsons guitar without the cutaway

it's definitely the type of guitar that will make you a better player and explore your potential, I know that petercooks just got in a new A25 at the best price I've seen anywhere if you're in the market. McIlroy A is same body size as the Lowden F, like the RT signature F35C, Mc's are slightly lighter and airier sounding overall.
