1. You'll see the ad for "How To Beat The High Cost Of Living" twice without sound & backwards, then with sound. Also, you can sort of see the Newscene 22 logo with copyright from the end of a news broadcast & (we think) the visuals of a Raisin Bran commercial. [We warned you we were pop culture geeks!]

2. A clip of the Kirk Douglas/Laraine Day movie "My Dear Secretary" that was recorded over.

3. " 'Murder On The Orient Express', next on The Movie On 29", followed by "Murder On The..." open.

4. Part of movie interrupted by 1010 Wins ad.
"This COULD be the year for a subway series. Who hits home with the story? 1010 Wins!" Clever.

5. Superfresh is the freshest way to save. [Seriously, this commercial never fails to make us hungry]

6. "James Caan & Robert Duvall star in The Killer Elite."
"James Caan- It's the only way he knows to make a living!" I love that; it's like they're basically saying, "Between this & 'The Godfather', this guy is pigeon-holed into one role."

6. The Legal Service Center of Arkans & Levin.
Couldn't they just have said 'law offices'? Nah, legal service center sounds cooler. "... New Jersey, check your directory." What an 'eff you' to NJ! I"d be pissed! lol.

  • Is anybody paying attention? This is a mishmash from more than one TV station. New York radio ads (1010 WINS) would not have appeared on a Philadelphia TV station. No channel 22 in Philadelphia (but 29, obviously!) Arkans & Levin and their LEGAL44 telephone number -- a staple of Philly UHF ads! As for "check your directory," it was common for Philly station ads to advertise a different (toll call) phone number for local services. Not in 215 area.

  • what kind of shit is this?

  • In This Clip, From 3:58 To 4:28, It Was WTAF-TV's The Killer Elite Video Promo For 1983.

  • In This Clip, From 3:22 To 3:28, It Was WTAF-TV's The Movie On 29 Video Bumper From 1983.

  • In This Clip, From 1:55 To 2:15, It Was WTAF-TV's Murder On The Orient Express Video Promo For 1983.

  • I still remember those Movie on 29 bumpers, probably the best bumpers 29 had back then. Damn you Rupert, change 29 back to what it was.

  • also, the mall strippin scene, jane curtin has a surprisingly nice ass

  • I also saw this in the theatres and coul not stop laughing. The scene where Jane Curtin is trying to get her electricity turned back on is classic.

  • I saw this in theaters and laughed almost nonstop from start to finish. It's really funny! When it was on HBO, several kids' mothers said, "You'll love the way Jane Curtain swears." She really was too funny. the movie really is too funny. Too bad it wasn't released better as it deserved to make more money!
