This video shows the inside of the Birks Cinema when it was first opened up again. It was taken by Willie Leszke and we're grateful for his permission to use it.

From the street entrance you saw only the remains of an amusement arcade, but behind the scenes many poignant reminders of its former glory remained, from old equipment, to film scraps, to the great proscenium arch and drapes of the old screen, complete with the classic 'B' logo.

The 'B' has been kept and will no doubt be installed in the new high-quality 100+ seat auditorium that will form part of the community run cinema and cafe bar that the Friends of the Birks Cinema are working to create, to help bring cinema and life back to the heart of Aberfeldy.

For more information about the campaign by the Friends of the Birks Cinema to make this a reality see http://www.birkscinemafriends.org.uk
