I made an electric lift system for my pickup that lifts my regular topper up for access and more space. I absolutly love it. You really wouldn't know you needed one until you have one, and actually use your truck as a truck. Now, it would suck to do without. Don't listen to naysayers. They just love to tare down other people with no real idea how much something like this can make life easier for people like me. If they don't need it, why would anyone else? Right? Good luck buddy. Genius, by spending more money, more time, adding more weight and complexity to the vehicle hes managed to make a huge truck nearly as good at carrying a shoebox as a smaller more efficient car.
Who could possibly see any problem with that plan?
you seem like a nice fella, but that is overly complex and slow, and therefore I must assume expensive. You need a better way to open it. Know how I get things from my truck bed? I carry a stick in the bed. Tools are one thing that separates man from beast! I'd need to see some pretty tightly controlled test data to see the mpg improvement. I get WHY it should work, but know cognitive dissonance and tester/inventor expectations can affect results. good luck with it!
kill it , its ready to fly away !!!
btw i like it :)

If you were that worried about gas mileage you should have just gotten a minivan.

Power lift is waaaaaaay too slow.
It needs to be able to go up a bit higher.
It's not a "machine".
It needs a window in the back.
Cool idea. reminds me of the back of some HMMWVs
