At 0:35, did Marty accidentally drop his boots or, did he throw his boots over his shoulder on purpose so the bear will stop chasing him and just to eat his boots? It just felt like he threw his boots over his shoulder on purpose at 0:35 either to make the bear stop chasing him or, the boots were too heavy for him to carry as he was running so he decided to get rid of them. (The strange thing is that I didn't know bears would be interested in eating boots which the bear did from 0:40-0:43).
@Cellmate412162 One other thing since I ran out of characters in my last message.
I agree that bears can outrun a human no matter how fast a human runs. I guess a bear will only run after a human only if the human runs since I learned that if a bear runs up to a human, the human should stand still and the bear will stop and stand on it's back legs to make itself big. Then all the human has to do is just put his/her hands over his/her head which will scare away the bear.
@Cellmate412162 I didn't know black bears can eat humans because for one thing, a friend of mine in real life was camping out and a black bear ripped his tent because it smelled food inside but, the bear didn't care or bother him, only ate the food. Another thing is that, another friend of mine and me were driving through a safari with bears and the black bears were running loose but, the brown bears were caged up. These are the reasons I thought black bears don't eat humans but, only scratch.
@afriendofbean Actually black bears can attack & eat humans, but unlike brown bears the chances of a black bear attack are even smaller than getting eaten by a shark. Black bears are mostly timid creatures, but when black bears do attack it's as sudden as lightning. And yes, they can still easily outrun a human.
I'm not sure if this really happens in real life but, I was a little surprised seeing that bear stand up on it's back legs and then started chasing Marty because, since that was a black bear, black bears don't eat humans (only brown bears eat humans and they stand on their back legs against humans). I guess if black bears don't really stand on their back legs, maybe the reason that one did was so that Marty will leave, and he chased Marty a little just so Marty gets far away from his cave.
I wonder if the bear was hidden in the back and was sleeping because, the moment Marty entered the cave to hide from the indians and keeping out of the way from the cowboys, the bear didn't growl or start to chase him. (I guess the sound of the gas leaking out of the delorean woke up the bear where he then saw Marty in the cave and growled and chased him to say "get out.")

Wow, we worked on the same movie. Well, not exactly, I was an extra, and hung out in town in California.
