I never did notice coon hounds much in the past now I have a beagle hound cross and I love her she is such a sweet and beautiful dog. Im so glad we have her. I seen this dog and it reminds me of my own.

Gorgeous animal! Terribly sorry for you loss! I just got a 4 1/2 month old B&T mix and she is a mess! really smart & happy as she can be - all she wants is to play W/my 9 yr old bearded collie.....I love these dogs - they're so sweet!

@releeusa I got Shelby Lynn from the Coonhound rescue online (google search: black & tan coonhound rescue, contact Jayne at rescue). She was the sweetest, greatest, most feminine dog. I miss her terribly. She died when she was 3 yrs old from a rattlesnake bite. I have another female Coonhound named Maybellene now. I'm sure I have some videos posted of her too. Shelby Lynn & Maybellene are both American Black & Tan Coonhounds, but very different from each other. Shelby Lynn is the shorter eared..

@releeusa ...hunting variety (some call them Wagner Black & Tans), & Maybellene is the old fashioned variety. The easiest way to explain the difference (if you don't already know) is the hunting types look more like a long eared Dobie, while the old fashions look more like Bloodhounds. Maybellene came from a breeder in Arkansas (google search: Dry Creek Black & Tans). Hope that all helps! When you finally do get another one, be sure to post some vids, & let me know!!
