I mean there is no justice. The rich win; the poor are powerless. We become tired of hearing people lie. And after a time we become dead, a little dead. We think of ourselves as victims - and we become victims. We become... We become weak; we doubt ourselves; we doubt our beliefs; and we doubt the law.

But today you are the law.

( And I am well aware what's going wrong on this planet - I ease my conciousness with charity work ) Life is a precious gift, by whom ever, so might aswell let others destroy their own by greed and hate. randomjesse: We are not better than animals, no. But mainly because of the view you express. Who gives a sh** about a man, when we're so many anyway? What are you trying to teach? Hitler had the same view of mankind. I do not own riches - but I have lots of friends, a loving family, a very good education and I travel and work around the globe. So fuck being rich - life is about experience not about what you can store in your house. If you're after riches you're playing by their rules anyway.

randomjesse: In theory. But we ourselves shape the picture of our lives. Being "poor" or "rich", or not value the life of mankind in general, is also decided by the surrounding society. Embrace the values that you see fit to get to the "top". Though, I know plenty of people at the "top" and they do not really seem to be happy. I am not powerless as this song suggest. I have the power to shape my own life - and that I do. You have no kids, right? With, it's impossible to hold onto your opinion.

@Cystlib Your attitude is admirable, but misguided. Turning the other cheek to someone full of hate will only earn you another cheek full of hate. Arguing is similarly futile. You have to force them to defend their standpoint, rather than exchange attacks. People like Randomjesse aren't particularly bright, so encouraging them to take stock of their statements and back them up with facts often leaves them drawing a blank--and that is perhaps the most help you can give them.

@AstronautJ No of course I don't think we should "shrug and indifferently walk-on-by as bigots spew racial slurs and nonsense." But when you want to fight these opinions, you should do it with constructive criticism and not use fallacies and personal attacks. As these won't convince anyone, and it will lower yourself to the same level. And I believe people should stay polite towards others even if they aren't polite towards them. Youre persistence in this will eventually set you apart from them.
