This is a very compact SSTC built into a inclosure with these dimensions 125W x 80D x 50H mm.

It features a halfbridge of IRFP460 MOSFETs with 330uF smoothing capacitor on the bus that is fed with fully rectified 230VAC.

Secondary is 75 mm diameter, 165 mm long, 1500 windings, 0.1 mm enamelled copper wire with a 45 x 152 mm toroid for topload. Resonant frequency somewhere around 180 kHz.

250+ mm long sparks.

The driver is using antenna feedback and is designed by Steve Ward.

    I just switched it off, I do not know why it resulted in a racing spark, but its still working fine :)

  • What happened there in the end? Did it blow the bridge or did you switch it off?
