The Skreddy does tape better.
The Empress has *much* more capabilities.

@smartti1970 Yeah, it is expensive, but DAMN does it do a lot of cool stuff. 8 presets, tons of features, and Line 6 versatility with boutique tone that takes up very little space on the old pedal board. Ultimately I ended up selling mine because I prefer my Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay and Rocket Ride First Echo On The Moon (a brilliantly modified Memory Man), but I still think about it and might end up getting another one down the road.

perfect setup would be both. skreddy for the tape sounds and empress for any other type of delay

Guy's don't be fooled by science and technology... the green blob guy over there is creating the delay effects with his all-powerful mind. Just get one of those. I recommend the early 80's version not the re-issue.

do doubt the empress is more versatile...but the skreddy just sounds so much better...especially the modulation

Longer delay time and additional features such as a looper give the Empress the win in my opinion.

Thanks for the demo, Brian! I really like the Empress, I may have to go further into debt to get one.

I think we need a blind A vs B test kind of thing where which was which is revealed at the end. Both sound great. I am leaning toward the Skreddy since I am currently delayless and if the Vintage Modified becomes available again, they will probably sell out immediately.

empress price is pure madness
I can't really say the super delay is superior, but I won't say it isn't. They both do different things. I think the empress sounds more full, but the timefactor has more tweakability. The timefactor can honestly do nearly anything you'd want a delay pedal to do. The tone of the empress on some settings, at least to me, is better than the timefactor.
