  • should not use hook blade when fitting carpet. Back cut with straight

  • I started out using the straight blade and shears method and althougth effective it is time consuming,i use both, but mainly hook blade.with the straight blade and shears method you have to mark the carpet with shears then cut,and after 2 cuts you either change blade or sharpen on oil stone,on a thick carpet you may need to mark it in 2 or 3 times sometimes marking the skirting in the process ,the hook blade is quicker to use and will take less blades per room with better fitting results

  • when you have some fitting experience behind you,you will realise the straight blade method is making you fit the room twice or sometimes three times learn how to use a hook blade !

  • as the video introduction states "HOW TO FIT A CARPET" it gives you a basic understanding of the fitting procedure for those who wanna give it ago.

it is not to NICF standard.

  • @luxiguy

after 26 years of fitting you should have some install pictures then?

lets see what you got santa?

  • @trentend79 thats bollocks , you tape underlay and after a few months of the carpet being down it crincles to walk on u daftie, genral good guide but tapeing underlay is silly.

  • nice method,well done

  • @lukeseers22 I've never heard so much rubbish in 26 years of supplying, fitting, repairing & cleaning carpets! Complete dribble

  • @luxiguy actually you should put paper felt under underlay to stop dust and crap coming through and the reason why people dnt tape anymore is because people put tape over staples which then when you put the carpet down and tread were that staple is it makes a noise of the tape peeling on and off of the underlay

  • actually your gripper is not to nicf standards but good job i suppose not a nice colour carpet mind lol
