Lol @ people talking about building PCs. That's like a construction engineer saying he could build himself a house for cheaper than a company could.

When I bought my MacBook pro, I compared it to laptops with similar specs by other high-end manufacturers and the price was petty damn competitive. And that's not even comparing the intangibles like Apple's rigorous quality control, OCD-excellent construction, and unmatched design.

Don't forget the far superior OSX, which perfectly integrates

@ActuallyLiam Except Lenovo. Lenovo is the only PC maker that makes extremely high quality products. They also make the TOUGHEST laptops in the world. (ThinkPad line)

my macbook air could not withstand  dry red wine :) but everything else is perfect need to get new one because dell with windows is tragedy

@BMAnnArbor L-Lion? More efficient?! HAHAHA. We upgraded my mom's MacBook that performed like new on just 2GB of RAM, and once Lion was installed the fan was CRAZY and it was sluggish when using 2GB, we had to upgrade to 4. Anyways, I'm not going to get into an argument about which OS is better. If you prefer Mac OS, fine. It's got it's pros and cons, and Windows has it's pros and cons.

@LittleBIGRacer Lion is more efficient, the short cuts are amazing the new safari and other standard programs that come with it beat windows by FAR

@BMAnnArbor Really? Considering that when Windows 7 came out, all the reviewers and people were saying it was better than Snow Leopard, yet, when Lion came out, a lot of people downgraded. (I'd downgrade too, but I don't have Snow Leopard drivers or the Snow Leopard install disc.) :)

@cdnml you don't depend on anyone, just unlock the bootloader, and flash any stock android rom. no need for xda members. it's your freedom

@bluesdealer Don't be ridiculous. Building your own desktop PC is far cheaper. A high-end desktop PC will cost around 1/4 of a Mac with similar specs. I agree OS X is superior, that's why I'm on a custom-built PC right now...running OS X Lion. I have had no compatibility problems with my hardware.

Macbooks are more competitive, but again, if you can find a nice laptop from a good company that is compatible with OS X, there is no reason to sell an arm and a leg for Apple products.
