Trailer #2 for Public Publication EP / Over The Top! LP : WE'RE ALL DYING TO LIVE
A record/film made over 2 years and recorded in studios, churches, office buildings and homes across Canada. Recorded mostly with one or two microphones, the recordings were made in an office building's basement, in a school assembly hall with 100 elementary school kids, in studios: halla, hotel2tango, breakglass, common ground, echochamber, in a church with a very large organ, in bars and bedrooms and percussion practice rooms and a cbc studio room. There are around 500 musicians on the record; including string/horn sections comprised of parts from separate geographical recording locations. The record was also written to sync up to a film made from films in the public domain which were cut together into a new narrative film to tell the story of the record.
During the recording, I was hit by a mafia car on my bike, suffered seizures and ran half marathons for The Heart & Stroke Foundation in the cities I visited to record in. All is well now, preparing for a long intensive tour.
