...everyone in the media has a bottom line and it's money...people get into it for various reasons but $ is tail that wags the dog...i'm glad that so many events are still on "free TV"...I like the term HOSTAGES OF THE MEDIA ..sounded like a good title to a novel..

Ha, hostages of the media was just my way of saying that we were only able to see what the media outlets thought we were interested i the moment, and there was no way to see anything else. Media on demand is so much better.

you gotta love UTUBE...i read about this "almost blunder" on yahoo sports with just a picture and a brief explanation and the first thing I do is go straight to UTUBE..and there it is...QUESTION:was it better in the old days when a person relied more on their memories from the mind ...when we watched a game in the 60's we watched..INTENTLY...now we have the game on and if something spectacular happens we just hit rewind on the DVR...

Coming from someone who first started watching sports in the late 60s, I think the new media such as YouTube are great. It gives people far and wide a chance to review and comment on important, or in this case funny, moments in history. Not so long ago we were all hostages of the media. My only fear is that the content owners (CBS in this case) really crack down....nah.
