  • Roughly 35 minutes.

  • Nothing fancy related to equipment. Any GPS reciever that can save a track, and video camera.

Main setup on the computer is using TopoFusion and screen capture application to make a movie out of the gps track. Then I combine this with raw camera video in QuickTime Pro. My main issue now is getting reliably good video footage with the equipment I have. Once I have good setup, plan on shooting as much of local trail/path network I can.

So the v570 worked well for this. At first it didn't have battery power, so I tired my new Panasonic FX500. The lens extends and the tripod mount is on the side. This made things shaky. Once I turned of auto focus and image stabilization on the v570 the battery worked.

Main problem I had hear is that the GPS track didn't seem to be in sync with the video. I need to address Topofusion playback to see if speed fluctuates.

Plan is to do this for all bike paths in Boulder.

  • Could you explain how you set this up? Did your computer download your location remotely? I'd like to do this, but I am not sure how...
