Filmed at the Church of the Nativity by our friends at Ethnographic Media for their upcoming film Little Town of Bethlehem, which follows the story of three separate men, each from a different religion, who grew up in the Holy Land amidst perpetual war and constant conflict:
Sami Awad, a Palestinian Christian whose grandfather was killed in Jerusalem in 1948.
Ahmad Al' Azzeh, a Palestinian Muslim whose grandfather was driven from his land and died in the Azzeh refugee camps.
Yonatan Shapira, an Israeli Jew whose grandparents were Zionist settlers and witnessed the birth of the nation of Israel.
Immersed in an environment of turbulent political and religious forces and a perpetuating cycle of violence each of the three men struggle independently to use non-violent conflict to change the paradigm. As their separate stories converge, they begin to find the commonality that bands everyone, regardless of beliefs, in their quest for peace.
Set in a section of the world where it has been said there is no answer to an unending war, Little Town of Bethlehem tells an amazing and informative story of non-violent struggle, the likes of which has not been seen since Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.
Luve this! I've taken pics of the same wall in Betlehem and of Banksy too..In Israel I was escorted by an american woman from FN..You could really feel the tension on every corner... Some places were strictly arab or jewish, so there were checkpoint everywhere: the street scene, in the busses and even in the suburbs! it was simply the most intense experience of all times!! Israel has become one big melting pot, which is mostly dominated by an ecumenical religious diversity and unity..!
