@RogerMestriner I would love to see that dance montage again.
-
MIB should have won
-
None of the nominees should have been nominated for a Best Original Score category. I find the Best Score for Comedy Score completely pointless. Only Anastasia should have been nominated.
1. Anastasia
2. Men in Black
3. My Best Friend's Wedding
4. As Good as it Gets
5. The Full Monty

Danny elfman is a legend...
Anne dudley is english????
-
What about that great dance MIB people did at the Academy Awards? Does anyone knows where i could see that again?
-
It was gratifying to see Danny Elfman finally recognised not once but twice this year having been so shamefully overlooked by the Academy after over a decade of outstanding film scores, but I defy anyone to genuinely rate either Good Will Hunting or Men in Black as amongst his very best work in cinema.

At the risk of dismaying some of the posters on this thread I do rather like Anne Dudley's main theme for The Full Monty. The overall score may not be great, but I find this cue more distinctive than the respective scores for Men in Black, Anastasia and My Best Friend's Wedding, and it is a suitable accompaniment to the film's humorous but melancholic and semi-tragic protagonists.

1. As Good as it Gets
2. The Full Monty
3. Men in Black
4. Anastasia
5. My Best Friend's Wedding
Notable omission(s): I've read some suggestions that the Austin Powers score should have been nominated in this category, and indeed the soundtrack is very good, but the most memorable themes in the film are pre-existing pieces of music such as 'Soul Bossa Nova' by Quincy Jones and 'Mas Que Nada' by Sergio Mendes, not The James Taylor Quartet's original but rather generic theme.

@musicaltheatergeek79 that's strange. Why didn't they censor the other scores? Did they give you an explanation?

@musicaltheatergeek79 the owner of the copyright of Anastasia is Warner. Warner does not permit the publication of its music in youtube. Several of my videos have the same problem. Anyway, that's betther than nothing
