Boehner on Fox: If the American People Stay Engaged, We Can Win This Fight

Appearing on Fox News Americas Newsroom, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said Republicans will continue to stand with the American people in opposing President Obamas massive government takeover of health care. Boehner reiterated that if the American people stay engaged, we can win this fight and stop the Democrats massive, 2,700-page bill. Boehner also noted that he will continue to fight, along with Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) and other pro-life Democrats, to oppose the taxpayer funding of abortion that remains a part of the Democrats health care bill.

BOEHNER SAYS DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS & PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO JAM THROUGH THEIR GOVT TAKEOVER OF HEALTH CARE:

Well, I think we are within days of this bill coming to the floor of the House, it is pretty clear that the President, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid want to do everything they can to jam this bill through the House and Senate and get the it to the Presidents desk. The American people have spoken loudly, and clearly, when it comes to this bill. They have said, stop, we dont want the government getting between our doctor, and ourselves. And it is pretty clear to me, that they are having a tough time getting the votes. Remember, if they had the votes for this they would have passed it last summer, last fall, over the winter. And the President has just doubled down again. But, the real key here, is the next couple of days, were going to see this bill, and, I think the American people need to stay engaged in the process.

BOEHNER SAYS IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CONTINUE TO STAY ENGAGED, WE CAN STOP THE GOVT TAKEOVER OF HEALTH CARE:

I do not believe [the Speaker] has the votes today. And if the American people stay engaged in this process and talk to their Members of Congress, the American people can stop this bill. It is pretty hard for Congress to pass something that the American people have already said no to. And Ive been around the process long enough, and that is not way America works and so, Americans have to speak up, and if they do we can stop this bill.
And so, when the American people get engaged in the process, they call the shots. They have been calling the shots pretty loudly and clearly over the last 6 months and what Im urging them to do is to continue the fight. We have not won yet, and we can win, but only if the American people stay engaged.

BOEHNER SAYS HOUSE REPUBLICANS AND PRO-LIFE DEMOCRATS WILL CONTINUE FIGHTING OBAMAS TAXPAYER FUNDING OF ABORTION:

And the fact is, the bill they are talking about, provides public funding of abortion. And Bart Stupak and other Democrats along with all the Republicans in the House, voted to uphold what has been the law for 30 years. No taxpayer funding of abortion. And without that language in there I think theyll have a very, very difficult time.

actually, the people aren't into liberal policies. the healtcare plan is just another liberal bill being jammed down our throats. liberals/progressive has a history that often repeats itself no matter how ofter they change the names.

sorry, but we are not all hippies. and some of us don't want to be forced to pay for insurance and face jail for the first time just because we may not have a dime to spare. plus my mother's business is is threatened by these bills.

We can and must live within our means, we must make a balanced budget! What ever is cut to make a balace budget +, we will gain in so many other ways. Pride,"can do" American spirit will roar to life,at the sametime slowly reopening heavy industry,investing in education, remain r&d top military defense projects(First) we must find ourselves out of war just to save money before we tip over a cliff (we have done enough for m.east in the last 10-15yrs) Self-preservation for next 10yrs is a must.

Exactly what polls are you getting this information from?  Most people in the USA are GAINST this particular health care bill. You dumb ass, you will not even be able to use it until 4 years from now anyway. This is a step towards socialism. Soon America will be mediocre just like Europe...
