Rachel Boesing is most widely known as the former weather forecaster on the weekday version of NBC4s popular early morning newscast, Today in LA (5AM- 7AM), and the stations Mid Day Report (11AM-Noon). Boesing joined KNBC in April 2003. In addition to her weather forecasting duties, Boesing also hosted yourLA, a half-hour KNBC-produced weekday program considered the ultimate insiders guide to the greater Los Angeles area and features viewer produced video pods. Beginning in July 2003, Boesing could also be seen as the host of HGTVs Hey Remember, a retrospective show highlighting the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Boesing began her broadcasting career in 1994 as an intern for the syndicated show Entertainment Tonight, before becoming an anchor and reporter for I.E. News, a cable news program based in Long Beach, California. From January 1997 to April 2003, Boesing was the weekend weather anchor for KVBC-TV Las Vegas, providing forecasts for the 5 PM, 6 PM, and 11 PM newscasts. She also contributed entertainment reports for the weekday news shows. Prior to her work at KVBC-TV, Boesing was a weekend weather anchor and general assignment reporter at WSJV-TV in Elkhart, Indiana from November 1994 to December 1996. She also served as co-anchor of the stations morning show, Wake Up.
Active in the community, Boesing served as the Honorary Chairperson of the 2006 Multiple Sclerosis Walk in Irvine, California. She also hosted UNCFs Evening of the Stars fundraising special in 2003 and 2005, and each year, hosts the Rites of Academic Passage for College Bound. Additionally, Boesing is a spokesperson for the American Cancer Societys Daffodil Days.
Boesing is a graduate of Brown University. She also attended The University of Michigan, where she graduated with a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
