Wow my Aunts 96 Jetta was Like that to..Shitty in the beginning but was better later on..great later on and still running and looking great today..but she had allot of little stupid glitches ..Like Exhaust, Power window motors and More! Hers is a 5 speed ..so no transmission problems but automatic transmissions on older VW's Seemed to be terrible! I Would never buy an Older VW ..I Do Like older Golfs..and More..but Iam not in love With them Enough to buy one And I Know enough about to stay away

@jakesaintsrow123 Even the new ones aren't that reliable, which is too bad because they are so great in other ways.
I also owned a '94 Golf. It was my first car and I got it new (well, my parents got it for me...). Lots of little glitches early on (it got better later, oddly). The transmission was replaced under warranty. But the worst part was the service. I would have to take the car in 2-4 times before they would fix the problem correctly. Probably won't buy another anytime soon!

@MaestroTJS I Like VW But Yeah they Had problems to!! They looked nice but Allot of little things Just Broke and were expensive to fix, My Aunt had problems with her 96 Jetta GL And my cousin had a 94 Golf and it was terrible! And very expensive to fix, of Course Not All are like this but i Have heard around about VW ..Manily older models ..Nice looking cars but one of the last I would ever buy!

@jakesaintsrow123 Sounds a lot like Volkswagen too, even today....(But in their case, they had already built market share much earlier.)

Very good exuection like Great Handling, Great quite interior very comfortable cars...These Felt like little buicks, But the quality was terrible These Had Allot of trouble and Yes Killed there chances because By late 80's the Reviews and customer feed back on Renault and they cars was terrible
