Isnt it interesting that we respond well to the threats and intimidation of creditors, utility and mortgage companies? We rush to meet deadlines. We hurry to make payments. We worry and mull over obligations and financial commitments. We fear the mail. We fear the phone calls. We respond with anxiousness to cut off notices. We live in the terror of foreclosures and repossessions. We cherish our things so much that we live in fear of losing them. Yet we have no such fears or trepidation regarding the Lord God, Jehovah. We are commanded to fear the Lord as a means of keeping a proper relationship with Him. Our fear of Him, however, never compromises our love for Him.
