Huh? He's clearly reading a prepared speech. What does it matter whether the speech is on a piece of paper or if it's on a teleprompter (or, in Sarah Palin's case, on your hand).
it was a great on text but could have been delivered much better. with the tone he uses in it, he may as well be saying "Mr. Gorbachev would you take down this wall, pretty please?"
What Reagan said was completey unheard of before. No-one would have said it in the Carter admin. His willingness to challenge socialism is why America and the West won the Cold War.

You're absolutely right. It wouldn't have made any difference. Obama would have always been found wanting when compared to Reagan.
Reagan had character and he never apologised for his country.
I doubt Obama could have said it better. Teleprompters weren't around in those days.
