1 thing i dont get is why you reversed it twice... iv used this effect before but only to build up to new sections like a long preverb effect... I took the audio bussed it to another track (100% wet reverb) and moved it so it lead into the bar i was building up to.. Surely by reversin it twice it would be the same as the original audio??

@drewpearsonmusic That's what I meant, I should have formulated it differently. Thanks for the fun facts! :P

@LeForceVideos I should have formulated it differently, that is what I meant. Effects just like strip silence and speed changing. A plugin is indeed a different thing.
I was looking for this, I thought there was a plugin or a setting I missed. Isn't this called preverb or predelay?

@rampagetv it can be called both, but there isn't a plugin that can do this. The plugin would have to look into the future :)

@drewpearsonmusic which would be possible in post, of course not live :P You hear it so often in for example Ozzy Osbourne songs, you would think that there is a plugin for it..

@rampagetv This effect is an old one. Ozzy Osbourne's engineers spooled the tape machine backwards, ran the backwards vocals through a reverb, and recorded the results. When they spooled the tape machine forwards again, they got reverb heads, preverb, or predelay. This technique is the same thing, achieved the same way, just digitally. For sure there is no plugin that can do this. Maybe a factory effect (like the reverse effect used in the tutorial) could process create a new audio file.

The second track that I'm supposed to record into isnt recording the audio. I'm using logic 9 and I think I'm doing the bussing steps incorrectly. After i hit record and stop there is no audio waveform. I think I'm doing somthing wrong with the input output bussing steps Drew showed us. Sombody help me out!!PLEAse

sounds like the audio isn't routed properly. make sure the OUTPUT of the vocal track is set to the same bus as the INPUT of the track you are recording onto. when you hit play you should be able to hear the audio and reverb and see the meter moving on the track you are recording into.
