Drachen Fire on Nova part 1

T.V. special on Nova years ago features computer imaging of coaster and some forward and backwards POV's of the coaster. There is even a construction part where you can see the track arriving from Arrow Dynamics in Utah. Also details of its working like G's and inversions

To answer tvnewsguy from what i remember the two highlight coasters on this show were drachen fire and big bad wolf.

I remember we visited the park in about 2000 or 2001 during the summer. We took the train around the park and saw Drachen Fire when it was in SBNO, standing there, deserted, no one around. I remember boxes inside the station, small lumber laying across the track (right before it leaves the station) and birds flying in and out. It was pretty creepy to see.

I agree. Looking at the empty land with the Station and Storage shed is really sad to see without the coaster.

I remember seeing this ride when I was younger whenever I got on Apallo or Lochness Monster, but I never saw it running, then eventually it wasn't there anymore

@ljhbaby93 I agree! It's like I see loads of world class rides around & how they get demolished & removed makes me wish I had been there or got into coasters sooner & that. Yeah I would have rode it to no matter the roughness!

i would love to ride this...no matter the "roughness" they claim

It's a shame this ride is gone now. I never had the chance to ride it; By the time I was tall enough, it was closed.

Awesome video, I was cised as a kid when this opened up and remember eating in the black forest picnic area right next to the ride when it was open. It was pretty rough, but as hard as they tried, Arrow just couldn't match that little upstart company, B&M, in terms of ride features and rider comfort. Wish BGW got Kumba and BGT had gotten this one, then we'd have another silly coaster in Wburg.

I miss this ride. It was a bit rough, but it was popular until they changed a segment of track to make it smoother. Then attendance dropped. I remember the last year that I worked there I must have rode that ride 200 times...we knew it was probably closing
