Dang, a lot of Warbonnets!

The difference between the C44ACCTE and the C45ACCTE is that the latter is a GEVO (ES44AC) while the former is an AC4400CW. UP denotes them this way to separate them.

i've seen these big power units come through amarillo...are they really that heavy...or is there another reason for that much power...great catch...

well they are that heavy BUT more units means less strugle = better fuel econemy...UP are putting DPU's on everything now just for the fact that having one pushing from the rear gives the train 7% better fuel econemy so instead of burning 10 gallons per mile it may only burn 8 or 7 gallons per mile plus all there new units are AC45CTE 4500 hp the older ones were AC4400CTE 4400 hp BNSF may seem like a big company but not as big as UP
