A tragedy of Christian proportion.

Here's an interesting twist on the LDS Church's mercy mission of doctors assisting Haitians with their medical needs after the devastating earthquake hit that country.

One of the physicians on the trip is Jeffrey Randle.

Randle, who served a Mormon mission to Haiti, founded Healing Hands for Haiti 12 years ago. The organization attends to the medical needs of Haitians who have undergone terrible trauma, including lost limbs to injury or infection. The group also provides prosthetic limbs and other medical supplies, modernizes clinics and trains local medics.

The first year Randle and his group went to Haiti to help the locals, they had made reservations to stay at a hostel in Port-au-Prince.

But just before they were scheduled to leave, they were informed they could not stay there. The hostel was run by a Baptist group based in Florida, and once they found out many of the Healing Hands for Haiti folks were Mormons, they told them they were not welcome.

Half the group ended up staying in a hotel in Port-au-Prince and the others stayed in a mission run by the Catholic Church in another city. The local population has always treated the Healing Hands for Haiti volunteers with love and appreciation.

  • @Ettoredipugnar You didn't answer the question.

  • @1axvn Children reading vulgar and profane language.

  • @1axvn Great insight.

  • @jayhawk88z You use deceptive words to justify your hate.

  • @hammerogod She's right, no one in the church said that the papryrus is the one that the BOA was translated from--except the church officials themselves, up to and including Hugh Nibley, who came up with all kinds of hilarious explanations as to the reasons that those fragments have nothing to do with Abraham. The simple answer, of course, is that Joseph Smith made it all up, but Linda is a TBM and doesn't let facts get in the way of her beliefs.

  • Im a Lutheran x mormon the fact is LDS church is a non christian cult.
