On one of the star levels, I had my cape and just spun around, juggling one of the shells. I ended up get around sixty plus lives. There's no way I could repeat this, but its an idea that maybe pros like you could make videos of...

Thanks so much for this! Before, I farmed lives by going into Forest of Illusion 1 and abusing the roulette block star. This way is much faster and easier!

@darickn You get one 1-UP Mushroom there whereas in this level, you can get 99 Lives on just two visits.

Just go through the pipe at the top in the cave area and you come out there. Keep in mind that red levels you can beat more than one way, so to get to the pipe you may have to beat it both ways.

If you are talking about the one above the first ghose house, then yes, and I think almost everyone knows about that one. Good place for easy feathers and stuff, takes way too long for extra lives though.
