  • Tell that to the crew of Turkish Airlines Flight 1951. Radar altimeter failure on an autoland final , radar altimeter showed 0ft at 1950ft. The autothrottle retarded power to idle. The crew did not notice the stall until it was too late and couldn't disconnect the autopilotand recover in time. Now they are all dead. There has been a recent (09) fatal accident with autoland and you are saying that airline pilots don't even train to land all approaches (incl. Cat III ILS) by hand?!

  • uugh the ugly cockpit of the x-plane mirage xD

  • @starwars12345100 The title of the video says that the weather minimums are CAT III (100ft ceiling) and yes radar altimeter and autopilot are mandatory in real life. Cat I weather minimums include a ceiling minimum of 200ft. The nice thing about a simulator is that it allows you to examine "what if scenarios". What if the autopilot failed and you already flew a long hold on a missed approach and are short on fuel and have an emergency on board?

  • Way to keep your head in the game..Alot of focus needed here at all times.

    Thanks for posting.
