@TheAnthrochocobo Actually they removed the ending fromt eh first book because they didn't want it to end on a downer.
They had every intention to make the sequels but the movie didn't make money so no sequels.
Ya saying "atheist propaganda" as if it's just religious nuts that think this. The author has SAID it's atheist propaganda.

What a bloody fool, the single worse review I've ever heard. Simply because to make a decent review, the critic should have intelligence, alas this arse doesn't.

Did the reviewer read the Compass books when he got older or and knew the backstory of the books? Because if he already knew the backstory of the Compass books and was old enough to understand the material, then his point about the books being less than subtle is moot. The reason he didn't see the christian message in the Narnia series is because he was a kid and didn't see the complex themes related to religion.

@NeverShoutSamiee Just like the guy, who wrote this series.

On Amazon this isn't classified as "childrens fiction," it's called "young adult," which is for probably around 13+, who I think could take it.

@toberses11 Well, but he said that he reviewed just the first to books, which he read.

@owenmcgarel JRR Tolkien was a stong devout Catholic
There are tons of people in the world who are not christians!
Seriously....the christians ruin everything!
They complained about Harry Potter as it involves magic
and even this book! It is only a story not a true fact!
They said j.k.Rowling is a witch...
said David Copperfield uses dark magic and black magic or whatever!
They seriously ruined everything!
Thumps up if you agree!
and this is not a childrens novel for goodness sake!

@mega12345671234567 not a children's novel? What section of a library/bookstore do you find it in? The author himself said he made this as the atheists version of Narnia. Narnia is a kid series that metaphorically parallels the bible if you look for it you can find it. Golden Compass is about killing the Christian god. And note that's the premise that made me interested. It's how terribly it's done that makes me not like it.

hate to break it to you, but it's not a childrens novel.Read all the books before spouting utter shit. Adult book, with a child as a heroine. Nothing happens in the second book. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME. More stuff happens in that book than the first easily.

@666Meshuggah @666Meshuggah Hate to break it to you but it IS a children's book. the author said so.
I didn't review the whole series without reading it. I only reviewed what I'd read of it.
