Anxiety is normal for anyone, but for those on the Autism Spectrum, it can be a really big deal. Here is how I deal with mine.

  • I use B6 to calm my anxiety down. My brain is working overtime to make me feel mad but I'm happy. It's a rather mixed feeling there.

  • i do the same thing as you regarding the "it's not the end of the world thing" but if i'm already fixated i couldn't possibly distract myself

  • @labelleaccident lol sounds like me when i'm waking up to a stressful day. like school for example. I actually wake up and go through the entire day mentally about what i'm going to do. It's weird though i'm unaware i'm doing it and can't actually get up till i'v done it. like some reason it's more important then reality during the process. I actually think really clearly during this process, I'm unaware of it though and so can't really use it to my advantage. Its more like an automatic process.

  • Thank you for talking about your anxiety. I have to talk myself down all the time. Your suggestions are great. Thank you again for sharing.

  • Being an Aspie myself, i feel anxiety stronger than others, but luckily, i can rationalize that fear better than others as well.

In situations where i can rationalize the stress and fears, i perform clearly better than others. In situations where i can't rationalize my fears, i become "locked" in indecesion and the situation often ends in tears.

  • i dont know how you do it and are so successful and happy in your life. i've always known i was different and had alot of awful childhood experiences, terrible social interactions my whole life, and was just diagnosed with aspergers/autism at age 24. so i at least now know why i am the way i am with all of my obsessions and why the tantrums, not being able to communicate as a child. i just wish i was diagnosed sooner because it has really taken a huge toll on my life not knowing until now.

  • I have anxiety problems, but generally find it easy to cope when I have time to think about whatever is happening. For example, I hate airports - everything about them. I usually escape into my world and do a trial run. I'll play out different scenarios so that, even if the worst happens, I've already dealt with it and it will be old news. I still have trouble coping with things that just spring up on me though.

  • I have anxiety problems as well but it's not as worse as it used to be. 12 months ago I lost my Nan and my anxiety went to the point to where it could not be controlled. But with a trip to a psychiatrist and learning some new coping techniques, my anxiety levels haven't been as bad but when they start to creep up, I usually do the deep breaths first, then if that fails, I use a technique called Jacobson's which my psychiatrist taught me. Anyway, great video! Hope to see more soon!
