Lucky cover is in response to the Grammy Award winning song by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. David Leather Jr, and camille, both high school students met earlier this year at a North Carolina singing competition sponsored by Fox50 in Cary North Carolina. Both Leathers Jr. and camille placed in the top 20 out of over 350 contestants. camille and Leathers Jr. reside in North Carolina Wake Forest (outside of Raleigh) and Fayetteville respectively. camille was a contestant in Miami Florida for the American X Factor with Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul, and L.A.Reid. She made it all the way to the judges round out of 8000 contestants, but did not get an opportunity to audition due to time constraints. Familiar with national competitions, David Leathers Jr. competed against Garner North Carolina's Scotty Mccreary in a competition called Rip The Hallway and was a winner in that vocal competition and several other competitions including a competition sponsored by Rickey Smiley. Both camille and David Leather's Jr have very distinct voices some even classify them as hybrid voices with camille drawing comparisons to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, Jill Scott, Erkyah Badu, Jennifer Holiday, Chrisette Michele, Whitney Houston, Phyllis Hyman, Anita Baker, Mariah Cary, and Minnie Riperton to name a few representing the fact that camille sings in 6 octaves. David Leathers has been compared to many current day and legendary artists as well. Among them include arguably the greatest performer of all time, Michael Jackson, Frankie Lymon, Jeremih, Chris Brown, Miguel, Justin Bieber, Neyo, Sammy, Ray J, Eric Benet, Slim of 112, Kevon Edmonds, El Debarge, Ryan Tedder and more. A collaboration between camille and David Leathers, Jr. can't be denied of wearing the title of one of the most unique vocal groups in the history of duets. Among the genres influencing the teen's vocal styles include: Pop, HipHop, R&B, Jazz, and more. The listening stations supported by these two extraordinarily dynamic singers include 97.5 HipHopNC, 104.3/107.1 FoxyHits, and Sirius XM Radio's The Heat, Heart and Soul, The Groove, The Pulse, and the 70's, 80's, and 90's pop channels.
