Dog Suicide Bridge Scotland 'TV documentary'

Leading Animal Behaviourist, Dr David Sands, investigates the Scottish Suicide Bridge at Overtoun to help research and understand why dogs were being recorded as leaping to their death. This is an 'edit taster' for the documentary. Please note many aspects were researched. Dr Sands knows dog do not commit suicide.
The combination of a dog's natural curiosity, scent, owner family-cues (looking over bridge), topography (pathway over bridge changing from level ground to gorge) and sight-inhibited by high stone walls. Dr Sands acknowledges that such accidental falls made by dogs will have and continue to occur at other structures world-wide. PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT THE FULL DOCUMENTARY.

think of being taken out on a hot day in a fur coat that you cannot remove. You are boiling over , itchy , thirsty, you hear a fragrant stream nearby, can't see where it is, but in desperation for a swim and a drink , you hope over a low lying wall to see where the water is at. Too late., you're on way down to the rocks. This is no suicide bridge.

I agree, the dogs are thirsty on a hot sunny day and they hear the stream, hop over to go get a drink, when they realize that they are 50 feet up in the air. No mystery, especially given that people are vaccinating their dogs with mercury

etc. dulling their instincts.

dogs can just be curiously stupid I use to take my dog on walks near a creek and there were many high ledges he would try to run off of them many times but I held him back.
