BOR racer wing pass

I went sailing on the yacht "America" with many family members of the BOR racing team. We had a close encounter with the BMW Oracle racer, sailing under its new wing for the first time in the ocean.

I suppose the fixed wing is a development of what Dennis Conner had in Stars n' Stripes cat long ago. How do they control the wing's lift when it's in the dock? Can they douse the thing when not sailing? Or do they have to leave it on a mooring, constantly head to the wind?

While the wing was attached in San Diego, the yacht was left on a mooring.

That short mast is there to raise the port daggerboard.  The stbd daggerboard is up b/c it is windward (albeit not out of the water).
