Mountain lion Scream??

Many sightings in the area of a Mountain Lion. We heard this crazy sound late one evening. We've been told over again this is a Cougar. However, curious what others think. Possibly someone who has heard cougars can "confirm" this. We live in Kansas.

At the point where the scream can be heard I would be 1) looking for a new dry pair of pants and 2) cowering inside the car

We heard this sound at my house 3 days ago and we went outside to hopefully get the animal to go away so we could get some sleep. When we opened the door a huge animal was sitting in our front yard. He left huge paw prints and our neighbor saw a cougar the other day in his yard. This is a mountain lion.

No it is not a fox, This is a Mountain Lion!!!! I just had an encounter last night the cat got about 20 yards from me on top of a pile of logs and was screaming at me with this exact sound. The DOW confirmed it and are now searching for the cat since it is so close to our neighborhood with lots of children.

thats a mountain lion.. we've lost 3 dogs and 2 horses to them and every time they scream like this but its a mountain lion

I've never heard a red fox before but i can surely tell you that its a red fox no doubt about it

this is a red fox. I hunt them in the Pennsylvania Woods. Have heard that sound at night countless times when I'm busted and they figure me out. Definitely not a cougar. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, My dearest that is a Cougar screaming. I have one camped out on my rooftop. And it seem's your's is quite close as well. Please use extreme caution they are the Top predators of all Big Cats. They are ambush predators and have a 100% kill ratio. Once they lock onto their prey it's all over but the crying. Never leave your home alone, travel in groups of 3 or more. 2 people together are not a challenge for a full grown Mountain Lion.

omg.. I was curious, I live in Wisconsin, and was at the gas station filling up, wow that`s exactly what I heard. seems we got cougar in Wisconsin too :D

for those who dont know puma is a large wild cat of the americas and is not the same as the jaguar that also lives in the amercicas mainly in mexico to tip of south america it has over 40 names in the english language alone and has the most spread out territory of any wild cat in the world most common names cougar, panther, mountain screamer they are brown and black its just mainly in a response to where they live
