This video shows the process of hand weaving from sheep shearing to weaving a coverlet on the loom. It was produced by the Historical Administration graduate students at Eastern Illinois University as part of an exhibit they created for the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site in Lerna, Illinois. The exhibit entitled, "From Fiber to Fabric: Uncovering the Hand Weaving Process", will be on display until March 21, 2010. A portable component will travel around the state after that date. For further information contact Matthew Mittelstaedt at 217-345-1845. The video features site interpreters and volunteers from the living history site and guest curator, Sharon Stovall, who demonstrates how to dress a loom.
