  • nice vid. as long as what you hunt, you eat. I am against killing snakes for the sport just like Rattlesnake Round-ups. A drastic decrease in size of snakes being reported from 6' down to 2 1/2' in Sweetwater TX. Started a petition on Care2 .com I have 2 vids published here Deadly Rattlesnake Bite | Eating Rat | LIVE having this snake as a neonate, growing over 5' long before her release this past summer, North of Amarillo. Kansas has lots of Prairie Rattlers, just like East of Denver ;)

  • @landofthefreemyass

early June 2010 went back. Lumber co. gone from one snake area-snakes back, healthy, not stressed. Habitat in that area very promising for wildlife.

  • It looks like the trees have grown at Cheat View enough to block the view of the river. Sorry to see that area is being logged. That area was acquired in 1992 as part of Coopers Rocks State Forest

  • would like to see an update. Did the logging continue? Were Don's sites wiped out?

  • I have always heard that there were Timber Rattle Snakes around the area and have never believed it until I saw this. I always thought people were just saying it to hear themselves talk, now I have to believe them. I live 10 minutes from Snake Hill Road and I don't think I will ever look at it the same way. Wow, Rattle Snakes!

  • Great vid, I am from pittsburgh and have been traveling to coopers rock every year at least 7-8 times a year to hunt timbers. I have been doing so for some 20+ years to photograph and observe them in their natural habitat...one of the best places I have found near western PA to go and almost be guaranteed to see them.

  • Don,

Excellent video. I admire what you do. I wish I did more of it myself. I remember over last summer I'd get out into the creeks with my hip waders on and look for moccasins. I saw one baby and my eye lit up like Christmas morning. I can never forget going down this one particular trail in SC at night with bats flying all over, I saw a fox cross that trail, and about a 3' black racer. The joys of snakehunting!

  • This guy is an idiot. Mabye next year one of the snakes will bite him in the mouth and shut him up.

  • Don,

Wow! This technology is amazing and I loved your show! I feel like I know a celebrity!

    Here's to happy retirement.
