i wanna know cuz i wanna make some chip music myself but it would be fun to know cuz then i could replicate the sounds but pitch them to my own liking and make my own music ^^
@k0t1990 Instrument 0 is just the previous instrument, and can't hold samples. Since we are calculating the amount of samples milkytracker theoretically can have loaded at a time, you don't count instrument 0.
how did you make those tunes?

@FreeFireFull , you forgot instrument 0, so there are 256 instruments 0-255 :P ,, 256 * 16 = 4096

@thenoobguru And I wish I could make songs like this too^^

@FreeFireFull I first thought it was 0 to 255, so I put it as 256.

@FreeFireFull Oh yeah, cuz the instruments starts from 1, so it's 1 to 255. =) Sorry about that. ^^
Misthema 9 months ago
@Misthema The maximum number of instruments seems to be 255, so the calculation would be 255 * 16 = 4080

@Misthema FF is 255 and F is 15, so your hex calculation isn't the same as the decimal calculation.

@BrainSeepsOut Yes, but you can still have more instruments than channels. See the drums channel for example.

@Misthema
IIRC, chiptune trackers are limited to 4 channels.
