He proclaimed that the worldly life was empty; sex, money, property, etc...He helps the lovers of God to renounce the world and to seek The Infinite Happiness...so suffering, in the form of renunciation, breaks the ties to this worldly life...in this way it's the suffering, through renunciation, that opens up the door to God...and it's in God that we discover real happiness...

@oklahuma "What creates the difference? Well. karma". Karma is mysterious and we can never presume to know what a person's karma is. The caste of people called "untouchables" are destined to that caste because of the belief in karma ..... There is both individual and collective karma.
