Spooks Series 9 - Opening Titles

The new Opening Titles in Britsh spy series Spooks - shown in episode 2 of series 9. They now include new characters Beth Bailey (Sophia Myles) and Dimitri Levendis (Max Brown) as well as Harry Pierce (Peter Firth), Ruth Evershed (Nicola Walker), Lucas North (Richard Armitage) and Tariq Masood (Shazad Latif)

@theAri66 Well, such is the nature of Spooks, always has been from day one, it's what separates Spook from other shows, Spooks isn't afraid to pull off its main cast, I commend them for that. And it's not Lucas's suicide that I have a problem with, it's this storyline of him being John, this great love with Maya, and how he is really this evil person that made me angry. Lucas has shown his loyalty so many times and the writers just went and destroyed it all. It was character assassination.

@CHRISTABELF3 Spooks will be coming back for a Series 10 next year, so clearly there still are reasons for more Spooks.

@merseybeat1963 It's being ended because it's over. Infact I remember reading that the BBC would invest in the more mature shows like Spooks (which was a year or so ago).

I encourage everyone who loves this show to write to the BBC as this series is being axed as a cost cutting measure by the new head at BBC One DANNY COHEN.It will be his idea to short change the British people in reguards to they're steep tv licensing fees to replace programs like these..with cheap reality shows.

@StromcloudProduction I have not yet gotten to the death of Adam but I have been expecting his demise for a long time as he has been behaving borderline unhinged ever since the death of his wife.Before that he was solid.His performance has really been exceptional...and the ultimate of them all was Ros Myers..she was really something special.

@BetaArtemis I completely agree. Lucas was my favorite character since the series started. They completely ruined him. It seems like such a waste a great character and a betrayal to all of the fans who really liked him. You make a great point.

I really liked the character of Lucas North. Richard Armitage did a good job as lead in taking the reins from Rupert as Adam. But it was so difficult to watch the character assassination the writer's did against Lucas in series 9. Maybe if Richard hadn't gotten the role in the Hobbit, the convoluted "John Bateman" storyline would haven't been conceived ... who knows, then again, from season 7, they've been hinting at Lucas' deception and loyalty lies.

I just began watching this series this weekend (Saturday). I'm loving it so far (having just finished 1-8). Love the addition of Beth and Dmitri (sp???). The opening theme is awesome too- great music and video. Can't wait to watch the rest of this series (and can't wait for series 10)!

@AmbientChong11 Yeah Adam's death was probably the most shocking and unexpected death of the series. Ever since Adam left and Lucas took over I was willing for him to be replaced. I really didn't like Lucas! :P
