Active learning means learning in a way that engages the learner with the content and other people. The other people may be the teacher, fellow students, or people outside the course. Active learning is a workshop that requires a change in attitude about what it means to learn. Both teachers and students will benefit from taking the course. Active learning is a weekly seminar for students and teachers. The sessions will focus on learning and how to become active learners. Teachers will learn how to promote active learning in and out of the classroom and students will learn how to become active learners.
